Nu chapter for TouK

We are delighted to unveil that most of the inimitable software engineers of TouK have joined Snowflake today, enhancing their capabilities, and some will follow in the next few weeks. At the same time, a few of them will continue working with us on Nussknacker.

As the founders, we would like to express our gratitude to our team for the years together. We started TouK with no previous experience in running a company. Moreover, we had little experience in working professionally. We knew we wanted to write the best software with the best people and build a company we would feel like working for ourselves. And honestly, not everyone held out against our mistakes.

On the other hand, we have always wanted to build a widely, if not globally, recognisable brand. And it seems hardly possible with a custom software development company. Or at least we were not able to achieve it.  You can scale but compromise culture and agility. We felt it’d be much better for our people to stay software engineering team within a large organisation than for TouK to become a bigger software consulting or developers-providing company. And we believe Snowflake is one of the best places we can imagine for our engineers to grow their careers.

But our goals remain the same. We have been focusing on the product we spun off from TouK for quite some time. Thanks to the deal with our great data cloud partner, we received funds to accelerate the growth of Nussknacker - our low-code visual tool for domain experts to define and run real-time decisioning algorithms. As a result, we will be able to develop new features, enhance user experience, and, most importantly, expand our sales and marketing actions.

Lastly, we would like to thank all our customers. We appreciate the trust you gave us through the years and the partnership relations, especially during the current transition period. We did our best to make it as smooth as possible. Still, please forgive us for any inconvenience our decisions might cause you.

Out to the great, in with the Nu,
TouK
